Too much on my plate???

Two weeks into the new year and is my plate full.

You have school which in and of itself, will be tricky to handle later in the quarter, but here in the early portion is ok. This quarter I'm taking Inter-cultural Communications online (all I have to do in this class is write 2 papers of 3-4 pages each and three posts in the weekly discussion posts...that reminds me, I should go look and see how many I have this week). I also have Technical & Report writing in which I have to basically write a different letter each week. Then I have Legal environment of Domestic and International business... Business Law. I love the teacher in this class, he has us talk about law cases and present as if we are lawyers in the case, also if we take notes in the class, we are in trouble. Then I have Finite Math, which I really don't understand why I have to take this class, as I've already passed Statistics and this class is more along the lines of algebra...who knows. Then we have my "easy" class, the school newspaper. Sounds easy, and most of the time it is, but you try getting one article done (which for me usually turns into more like three or four) and all of your homework before noon on Sunday, when the games sometimes don't happen until 7p on Saturday.

Then you have San Diego State hockey. For those that read this and don't know I'm the media relations contact for the club team. I put out a weekly press release every week during the season. I'm also the announcer, and have been given the responsibilities if not the title of General Manager for the team. You have to start somewhere, right?

Then I have my job here at school working in the Athletic department. It doesn't sound hard, but when you have to juggle running the scoreboard for the swim meets, the water polo matches, and hopefully working with the baseball team it can get pretty hectic.

And now I'm also helping out the CSUB Dugout club. That is the parents and supporters for the baseball team. So far all I've had to do for them is create a Facebook profile, and take some pictures. But now they are looking at possibly asking me to keep a blog for them (I have a hard enough time keeping my own blog here up to date!).

So I ask you my fateful followers, do I have enough on my plate or should I try and add something else?

Wow, has it been that long????

Sorry for not updating the blog!!!! :(

To catch everyone up on what is going on in the life of Chris..... since I last posted, quite a bit has occured. First, I left off the last blog with me saying "off to work again to start another fun-filled year (I hope that doesn't turn into a sarcastic statement by the end of the year!)." Wellllllllll, since then "Bloodbath 2009" has occured. For those that don't know what I'm talking about, Clear Channel Communications laid off 1,850 (including two very close friends) while most of America was watching Barrack Obama screw up the Presidential Oath.

On the same day, and only about 15-25 minutes after I heard that the second of my friends got the ax, I called to CSU-Bakersfield to see what the status of my application was. The admissions councilor looked at my transcript and told me that I already had the equivilant number of credits to graduate with a B.S. in Sports Management (my major) right now, before I transfer. I asked her if that was a bad thing or a good thing and she responded with the following sentance. "Well, all I'm going to say is welcome to CSU-Bakersfield, Chris!!!" To which I responded to her, "please don't pull my leg, I haven't had a good day." She came back with, "I'm not welcome to the family!" So say hello to one of the newest members of the CSUB Class of 2011 (providing nothing goes wrong!)

This past week was opening week for the Spring 2009 semester at Grossmont College, and hopefully, my final semester at "Harvard on the Hill". This is going to be one crazy semester. 3 classes that are either completely or partially on the 'net and calculus. Of course, I also have a small group communications class that has us doing a project that will help make the "World a better place". The group that I joined (the 4 other people sitting near me on the first day) decided that the best way that we could make the world a better place would be to plant a tree at Grossmont College. Not to mention that when we come back and visit the campus, we can say that is the tree that we planted!!! Also, this semester, I'm the home statistician for baseball, game day ops for softball, and I'm continueing as the PA for Men's and Women's basketball at Grossmont and Women's Basketball over at Cuyamaca.

So as you can see, its going to be a busy semester.

Adios for now.

Merry Christmas

Well, yet another year that I work on Christmas Day. Hope everyone is enjoying the festive day. If you are reading this and you are Jewish, I would like to take this time to wish you a Happy Chanukah (or for those that are more formal.....Hanukkah).

I will be pretty busy for the rest of the year as I will be enjoying a standard Friday (pretty much just chilling out) until I go to work, then all heck goes crazy.
Friday - Clear Channel Work 9p-5a
Saturday - Work the Cuyamaca College Women's basketball tournament, Swing by the Single Spinners "Holiday" party, then back to Clear Channel for another (this time pure OT) overnight shift.
Sunday - Work day 2 of the Cuyamaca College tournament, crash
Monday - Work maybe a game at the tournament, then go to LA for the Kings game
Tuesday - Work the Pacific Life Holiday Bowl
Wednesday - Grossmont College Women's Basketball game, then go out to the desert for some explosive fun!!!!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR to all!!!!! May 2009 be just as crappy for everyone then 2008, that way if it is better, you have exceeded my expectations!!
