Baseball, the Beach & Vegas

So last weekend, I went to visit my friends up in beautiful Lakewood, CA (Long Beach). I went to a baseball game between the Edmonton Cracker Cats and the Long Beach Armada of Los Angeles of California of the United States of North America including Barrow, Alaska (aka the Armada). The Armada won the game, and one of the people that I went with was absolutely amazed that I knew every single word of "Oh, Canada". I then followed it up with a decent rendition of the Star Spangled Banner.

On Sunday, I went to the Croakers and then followed them to Seal Beach in Orange County. I had fun at the beach and enjoyed the company of the entire crew.

Then on Monday, after enjoying the coolness of the beach communities of Lakewood, Long Beach and Seal Beach I transitioned to the presumed heat of Las Vegas. In reality, Las Vegas was pleasent highs in the 100-103 range, hot but manageable. I had the fun of showing a Vegas Virgin around town along with Tommy, who now lives there. Monday night, I played craps at the Excaliber, I bought in for $180, I went down to $24, only to rebound to cash out with $719. At one point in the trip I was up to nearly $900, I am sitting at work right now, after getting back around 2:30 this afternoon with only $2 in my pocket and oweing Matt for breakfast this am.

Now this is the way to END the summer

So I found out a couple of hours ago that with a little moving and shifting of some shifts at work, I'll be able to go to a beach party and then after a day to recover, I will be taking off to Vegas for the 1st annual MORT (Men Of the Round Table) convention.

I will be driving to Vegas, while portions of MORT will be flying in and riding back.

Thats it for now,

BTW, for those that care, Phil won the monopoly game earlier, and I was the only one that was still alive at the end. Funny issue arose at the end of the game, I owned one entire side of the board and a couple of RR also, while Phil owned the rest of the board. There were a total of around 5 times around the board, where I landed on either Free parking, the utilities, my RR, or go to Jail. I did this for like I said about 4 or 5 times around the board. It got absolutely hilarious as I started to call out the numbers I needed and rolled it.

Eaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrthquake

Yes, we had another earthquake in So Cal today. No, I didn't feel it, as a matter of fact, I slept through it (the second consecutive earthquake that I have slept through, damn).

I just got done watching the early news here in San Diego. One of the last stories they had made alot of sense. If you have a family member that lives in another state than you do, you can use them to funnel information through, and text them instead of calling it is easier.

For example: my sister lives in Las Vegas, I would text her saying that everything is ok. My Mom and Dad would do the same thing, and tehn she would text back to us, that eeryone is ok. It would take as few as 4 texts.

Sorry

Yes, its been awile since we last got together. Welcome to bog 1.006, the first in about a week. That is mainly because of my recent trip to Las Wages (offically Las Vegas).

For those who know gamble talk I came home down 2 bills (for those who don't understand that, -$200). Also, I don't believe that I mentioned this in bog 1.005 that this was my second trip to the Riviera. I believe that if you have a bad experience, you should go back and see if that bad experience, is just a one time thing or if it is the norm. I very rarely tell people where they should stay, but of you have a choice between, the Riviera and another another Hotel Casino (HC) in Las Vegas, choose the other HC. Both times that I have stayed at the Riviera have been very bad experiences. For example, on this trip, (I don't know about the folks who read this bog, but I'm not a big fan of being called a liar!) Christmas Eve, at around 5:00 in the early evening. I go down with my parents to get the car out of valet, and once the valet brings the vehicle around, & I get in without giving him a tip, he says to me "Do you need change?" I say no, and then he grabs the door and prevents me from closing it, he says "We have been keeping track and you haven't tiped us, since you got here." Two things bothered me about this. 1) Since when is it mandatory to TIP? and 2) I had been tipping everytime I got the car out of valet (up to that point, it had totaled $9 in less than two days).

As far as the issue of tipping, here is my theory on it, if the person that I'm tipping has done a good job, or gone above & beyond the call of duty, they get a tip, if niether of these happens, then no tip. It's plain and simple. BUT WHEN YOU START CALLING ME A LIAR, OR TELLING ME THAT TIPPING IS EXPECTED, NOT A GOOD IDEA. I didn't give a single tip thereafter.

As for my family, namely my sister. I love my sister, but what happened to originality? My sister works for Terrible's HC in the corporate area. What was her gift to me for Christmas???? A six-pack cooler with the Terrible's logo on it (Keeping in mind, that anyone that signs up for thier players club can get the same item!!!).

My Christmas had a major turn in it once we got back home, as my Mom & Dad out of no where gave me a ticket and parking pass to one of the Garth Brooks concerts in LA next month. For those who don't know me, I FREAKING LOVE GARTH!!!! I went to one of the 1996 concerts at the SDSA (Sound there SUCKS) and had a great time, now that I'm going to be listening and seeing him at Staples, holy crap it is going to be AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So long for now, as this is the end of bog 1.006. I start school in less than a week and in my next bog, I shall go over my New Year's resolutions. Til then, See Ya!
